Just as the Protagonist was about to obtain the treasure at the end of the Inferno, they were cornered by other adventurers, which had heard stories of the Protagonist's evil deeds -- transforming unwilling people into weapons and selling them. They captured the Protagonist, and forced them to drink a Sandals Potion, which turns them into Sandals. Over the next few days, the Protagonist's mind slowly breaks, as he starts loving his master's foot.
